Welcome back to The Inner Bottom Line®, brought to you by Personal Best®.
Today, we formally began building the platform for our new radio show, The Inner Bottom Line, on blogtalkradio.com and we hope to be on air in the next two weeks. We’ve even booked our first guest for the show, and we’re incredibly excited about all the things we’re going to get to talk about with you, so stay in touch as the details of that announcement will be coming next week.
As the show takes form, it guides us on designing this site to offer you the most useful tools and info that will help you run your life and your business more successfully and profitably while you update your core values list, make better choices in your busy life, and cope more effectively with the killer stress and every-day ethical dilemmas and choices that are bound to keep you up at night.
But to do that effectively, it will require that you ask yourself a few hard questions, tell yourself the truth (remember, we lie best to ourselves!), and then put the results of that internal conversation into play in your everyday choices. Warning: It’s not always comfortable or easy, but I promise you, it pays off in so many ways. One thing is certain, everything will change. Nothing stays the same. And you ALWAYS have a choice, even if that choice is to choose to do nothing.
To paraphrase Mark Twain, “even if you’re on the right track, if you just sit there, you’ll still get hit by a train.”
It’s kind of like walking on a treadmill: in order to stay in the same place, you have to keep putting one foot in front of the other. If you don’t, the machine will throw you backwards and onto your butt. Never a comfortable place to end up.
That’s what we’re here to help you do. Move forward by choice, not by chance. The magical ingredient of this site is YOU. And your courage and willingness to send us your questions about the things that are causing you heartburn and loss of sleep.
I’ve been answering questions and offering options and possibilities for resolution for several decades, and one of the most fascinating things the experience has taught me is that most of us want and need the same things. We want to be heard and loved and respected, and we want to know that we matter. That our being there – in an office, a marriage, a friendship, or a family – makes a difference.
Whether you’re dealing with a bottom line issue or a bumpy relationship with a colleague or friend, in the end, it’s still personal. And you need clear boundaries and deserve respect in all your relationships.
So send us your questions. As soon as we have the call-in number for the show, we’ll post it here, along with our broadcast schedule. And thanks for your comments – at least the ones that aren’t trying to sell us something! We really appreciate your feedback.
I look forward to hearing from you soon!
